This isn't exactly news, but it's nice to write about it, even a fair bit after the fact. Toward the end of our trip to Europe, I asked Wendy to marry me, and she accepted. That was nice of her, as it would have been a really awkward flight back home if she had said no! Of course, I knew it would be a positive answer...
It took some time to find the right moment to ask. I had been walking around with the ring (a family heirloom) in my pocket for some time, when the time felt just right. As it happened, the right time was at the cottage on a warm spring evening, on the patio, with the flickering fireplace roaring in the background and a beautiful starfield overhead.
Many good times ahead.
