As skaters approach the downtown area, there are nice views along the canal, like the Chatuea Laurier seen here. After skating, visitors can take a walk around the downtown area to see some of the ice sculptures, visit the Parliament Buildings, do some shopping at the Rideau Centre, or warm up in one of the cafe's or restaurants in the Byward Market.
