Darren DeRidder Professional Information
I'm a graduate of the Computer Systems Engineering program at
Carleton University in Ottawa, Canada. I'm interested in object oriented
software design, data interchange formats and protocols, distributed and
real-time concurrent systems, database and web-based applications, user-
centered design and accounting applications for AAA services.
My current area of research is in data definition languages and transcoding data formats, data transport, interchange formats and protocols, including standards such as XML, WAP, and ASN.1. I have completed an award-winning project in the area of data interchange in cooperation with Carleton University and Bridgewater Systems Corporation. I enjoy graphic design for the web. Some of my design projects are viewable under Work Samples, below. Clients include Carleton University's Faculty of Engineering and the Canadian International Development Agency (CIDA). I'm currently employed by Bridgewater Systems Corporation of Ottawa, Ontario as a software designer. Bridgewater provides best-of-class carrier grade solutions for IP service providers in dial-up, high-speed and wireless domains.
